Aardal to Songesand
This video, filmed on an autumn evening in goes through hill south-west Norway starting at Aardal and finishing at Songesand and offers 29.6km of cycling with over 700m of climb and descent. The video and GPX file work out of the box. It starts with a 5km warm up before a steep climb.
Hjelmeland fjord to Bjødnabu
This is a short but fairly hard hill climb starting by the fjord at Hjelmeland. The world Hjelme is derived from the norse hjalmr meaning helmet, a reference to the two helmet shaped mountains behind the village. The area is known for its Salmon and fruit trees. After a flat warm-up on the banks of the fjord past some traditional Norwegian farms the climb, around 8-11% starts finishing on gravel roads at the Bjødnabu ski station.
Årdalrundt is 59km long with a shade under 700 meters of climbing through hilly south western Norway. It starts from Hjelmeland and follows the road by the sea to Fister.There is a small climb up to Hetlandsvatnet, over the “Åsen” to Årdal. A loop on the Årdal plateau, before climbing the “Riskadalsbrekka”. This is followed by a short downhill before the last hard climb over Ingvalstad. From there to the finish its down hill and flat.
